about a friend

when the wind turns south
she is an epic haiku
unfurling her voice

beneath clouds and rain
she waits and whispers wisdom
unselfconscious girl

wet lenses become
prophetic tools arresting
subtle autumn's light

Wow. That definitely reminds me of a person or two - happy thought, that! God makes beautiful things, not the least of which are human beings.

Yup. This person is a beautiful friend whom God seems to have graced with the gift of prophecy, much like another friend I have. Both are girls. I'm going with my gut here, that residual place where I act upon primal theology, not necessarily the articulated theology I spout when asked about my views. Are the two in conflict? Are these women also among the prophets? They are definitely truth-bearers. One is a teacher and the other, a writer. Hmmm. I will ponder more on this.

Hope all is well with you, Tuggy. I'm glad we have a human bean appreciater on the Residence Life Staff!

Hey! Thanks for the poetry! Is my assumption correct?

Yeah, you're the other friend, the teacher. I don't think you know the actual subject, though. She writes and reminds me of you. Should the two of you ever get together and chat...

I don't think the world is ready for it. :)
