first stanza

There are winespots on my tablecloth:
small circles, beige and violet
remnants of a bitter season
when we would sit and swim,
quenching with wine the uncomfortable thirst
of unrequited life and education.

Thoughts

E: this is going public mostly at your request. I kept thinking about the line breaks and even though I'm still uncertain, this is the best I've got.

Everybody: I think the second stanza has something to do with being unemployed, drinking long into the night, and idolatry. Any suggestions?

youve been working at the macaroni grill too long.
on the other hand, that is one of the best poems ive come across all day...
all week...
all year.
my whole life?
anything dealing with wine in a nonalcholic way is good. its classy.

greetings again.
this is your poetry?
let it flow from your heart and soul.
that is real poetry. i actually do not like how kids(slash people) spend days (slash years) trying to write a good poem. its just...sad. if its not their passion (slash if they're just not good at it) then its not worth spending your time on.
not that i think you should um....stop writing? no. thats totally uncalled for - all im saying is dont worry about what it sounds like. my poems actually have innuendos that i did not mean to put in there.
"bannana..."
"WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BRING UP THE MOST SUGGESTIVE FRUIT?"
hmm..

Thanks, Moo. I'm not worried, actually, but your words are still affirming. :) And I think you're weird. I love bananas. I don't think they're suggestive at all. Unlike POMENGRANETES!

This is my life. At least in some romanticized sense. Maybe it's actually the life of some American ex-patriate in France in the 1920s. If you do write a second stanza, make sure to write it from his (her?) perspective, not yours. Your prospectus sounds like it might make it a little forced. Don't be.
