I'm about to watch Time Bandits...

with my family. It has John Cleese, Sean Connery, and was directed by the same guy that directed 12 Monkeys. Dad's really excited about it. I'm a little nervous and a little excited. Anybody out there seen it? I'll post about it.

Thoughts

I love Time Bandits. I tried to watch The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, but the darn Blockbuster didn't have it.

Watch Brazil. I have it. You can borrow it. It's the best Terry Gilliam movie.

I really liked Time Bandits, too. The last line just makes the whole movie! "Mum! Dad! Don't touch..." I love The Adventures, too. Hope you enjoyed it.

Yeah, I watched Time Bandits, too. Once when I was in junior high, and loooooooved it, but then again with my roomates CJ (now CT) and EMP (recetly back from Peru, I understand) and they veeeeeeetoed it. I was not allowed to pick any more movies for the house. Ever. Sigh. Is it good?

I'll have to second Linnea, you should definitly watch Brazil, too. Less of a kids movie, kinda a dystopia flick (think 1984 or Brave New World).

Time Bandits is great though. I'm in love with Gilliam's visual style, it's unmatched.

* Random, but "I'm a little nervous and a little excited" reminds me of how I feel when I stand in line for Space Mountain.

Yeah, I'm here in WV having family Christmas right now (a brother in the USAF tends to rearrange holiday schedules). Anyway, we've been spending quality time, and I haven't been able to force this movie in ahead of family time over cards. Besides, everybody got movies for Christmas, so the movie discussion is fraught with conflicting interests.

And how can you argue with the word fraught?

And I like the Disney connection, jane. I feel nervous and a little excited whenever I go to the movies, and sometimes when I watch movies at home. It's like lining up to hear a professional team of story tellers. They might suck, they might be good. Either way, I'm going to learn something about telling stories, about being another person, about myself and about my society. Sighs of contentment. I love the silver screen.
