Posted by nickles at September 20, 2005 03:28 PM | TrackBackI thought you hated antihistamines?
Posted by: Krista at September 20, 2005 03:35 PMYeah. The drugs are making me irritable.
Here's the thing: antihistamines make me forget things (more than I normally do) and decongestants dehydrate me. But, as usual, I'm overcompensating by being REALLY TIGHT on organizational details and drinking waaaaay too much water. (Translation: stressed out and running to the bathroom every ten minutes.)

Posted by: KAC at September 22, 2005 11:07 AM2 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 t. salt
1 T baking powder
Whisk together, then cut 3/4 stick butter into the dry stuff in little pieces. Use a pastry knife (my favorite utensil) and chop up the butter pieces until you have itty bitty butter balls coated in the flour mix. (When the butter melts in the oven, the flour absorbs it -- helps them rise and be fluffy.)
Add dried fruit, chocolate, whatever you want, etc. (I like currants with candied orange peel, but experiementation is always good. Almost always.)
In another bowl, whisk 1 egg and 1/2 c. cream (or milk if you're nutritionally minded). Add any spices you like (cinnamon, etc.). Pour this all at once into the bigger bowl.
Mix until everything's sortof wet -- might still be a bit crumbly. Toss the lump onto wax paper and make it into a round. Slice like a pizza pie and put the slices on an ungreased sheet. Throw it in the oven at 425 (should have told you to preheat -- woops) for about 12 minues.
Enjoy.
