(1) Evan's new theory: that I've been blogging less since I started having more regular phone conversations. He sees this as a good thing... hmm. I've definitely been more distracted from blogging and other avenues of reflection, these days.
(2) Jobs that are appealing today: acrobat, portrait-painter, sound engineer, translator. Anything but professional waiting-for-a-visa-person.
Posted by nickles at May 3, 2006 12:12 PM | TrackBackhmmm. all of those involve sensory perception and some creativity for both the doer and the receiver...so maybe if you continue to occasionally lapse into other languages that need translating and throw in a backflip here and there it will make things more bearable. i hear street performing's making a come-back.
and i have nothing constructive to say about distractions. :) Happy reflecting.
I hate mayonnaise. But I made homemade mayonnaise yesterday and it wasn't as bad as store bought, very similar to an aioli sauce, probably because they're basically the same things with a couple of seasoning differences.
Posted by: jkrue at May 4, 2006 08:21 AMsee... but we still haven't talked. What is with that?
Posted by: Natalie at May 5, 2006 03:51 AMnatalie -- your phone number is in my gmail account, which has been disabled because they think i'm a terrorist... yes, really. at least they think i'm an e-terrorist. humbug.
my lockdown continues until 9 am tomorrow. you should get a call sometime after that. :)
and jkrue, I made hamburgers in a pan today (like rachel ray) and they had cumin, sage, liquid smoke, and garlic salt in them... and when they were done, I stirred together some Duke's maynonnaise (the only good store kind, in some people's opinions) with curry powder and a little sugar.
Add buns and spinach and fresh onion slices. Mmm. Thanks for the mayonnaisical reminder. Suddenly I'm typing with proper capitalization again... must be time for another burger.
Posted by: bob at May 6, 2006 12:45 PMI guess phone conversations are better for more one-on-one relating, but there are some people I enjoy "catching up with" that I would feel strange calling or else don't have their number...
Posted by: funke at May 11, 2006 12:59 AMYeah, the only problem with Evan's theory is that his data is false. I haven't neccessarily been blogging less.
And there are other variables. I'm coming off of a very dry spell, and I'm caught in limbo with work. And there are other personal developments that can't go up on the blog. Soooo...
I think there's room for blogging relationships. And email really IS mail, no matter what they say. It's different from snail mail, but it isn't less real to me.
