the weird thing is that he was actually addressing a conference about the historical verifiability of the holocaust, and (get this) there was a large contingent of Orthodox Jews in attendance. weird, eh? apparently for them, the institution of Israel as a modern state is an abomination.

Since they are still waiting for the Messiah, the idea of human effort establishing a kingdom for the Jews is anathema. It's sort of like premils' attitude toward postmils', except amplified.
