So. That's all for now. Just thought I'd share.

Having friends, keeping the neck warm, and getting better,

I'm glad you liked it :)
This post made me laugh uncontrollably just as my boss was standing nearby.
I don't think there's an acronym for that, and there probably doesn't deserve to be.

Ah Bob, such joy to my Tuesday, such joy. I too laughed out loud within hearing range of boss and co-workers, but I'm hoping they don't mind. I was thinking of you today as your Spanish-speaking former roommate is currently one floor beneath my office saving my non Spanish speaking tail by translating for a meeting. You'd think World Relief could come up with a better option for dealing with Cuban clients than sending them to me for some broken frenchish/spanishish/big hand gestures. So, of course, I call in for back-up. I'm sorry you're feeling ill, but your new scarf looks very warm and quite debonair so I hope you're on the mend. I've been horrid at keeping in touch, but that doesn't mean I've been quite so neglectful at mentioning you to the Lord :)And Getting a little catch up on reading your blog is a delight as always.

Why does a scarf need popcorn peanuts? What, it's going to break in the mail?

Hands down, this is the happiest, most delightful blog post I've seen from anyone in quite awhile. Thanks for the cheering up!

Bob, you are a riot of well-knit proportions.

Posted by: funke at January 30, 2007 01:09 PM

and SUCH a hottie. (oh. did i say that out loud? well. not technically.)

Posted by: sarah j. at January 30, 2007 02:56 PM

good grief. GOOD GRIEF.

You people are too much. Rich, thanks as always and happiest of anniversaries, albeit a little late. Melinda, thanks for the prayers. Krista, they just add to the effect, don't you think? Packing peanuts are just part of the festivity of getting a package. Plus, they signify care and forethought. Leah, thanks for the compliment. Funke, you old punster! Thanks for making ME laugh.

And Sarah J., my response to you had best not be written in public. But I have one, just so you know. Thanks EVER so much for chiming in.

you're amazing, Bob.

Maybe I'll send you a package of nothing but popcorn peanuts. That'll be a real treat.

Posted by: Krista at February 5, 2007 02:59 PM

HA! Touche (accent aigu on the e)!

I'll just make a big pile and roll in them.

Or I could make popcorn-peanut-butter and eat them.

Or stuff my clothes with them and be well-insulated.

Or carve them into little shapes and waste time.

Or feed them to pigeons in the park.

Popcorn peanuts, the perfect gift: they're bad for the environment, sure, but they take next-to-no postage and white goes with everything. I'm calling Real Simple magazine to see if they'll give me $50 for this idea. If anybody steals it from me, I'm suing.

Poisoning pigeons in the park is unfortunately a pastime that has already been copyrighted...

REALLY? Dang.

i just took a look back at this post and had a laugh. i'm still feeling mucus-y, but i have to say, i sure do look 100% better. maybe 200%.

(...at least i'm back to showering regularly. maybe that's what it is.)
