it's over.

...and i can relax.

e & t are happily wedded. we've all eaten and drunk to them and the health of their marriage. it was the kind of wedding from which i walk away thinking, "will there ever be such a union again upon the face of the earth? of the weddings i've seen so far, THIS was the best, my new favorite." and bob treasured all these things up in his heart.

the local two-week outreach is over. every local partner had positive experiences with short-term workers. every short-term worker left with experiences of God that will bear all kinds of interesting fruit in the future. new contacts and lessons learned all around. i'm documenting what i saw, felt, and heard, both for our own people and for the organization that ran the program.

j and a have arrived, oriented themselves, attained a local network, and are all set for a series of research trips beginning tomorrow.

the week before the outreach we had a U.S. partner spend about a week with us working in another city but staying near to my city.

t and j are wrapping things up and approaching the close of their internships. we're going to debrief soon.

*huge sigh of relief and satisfaction* i just want to go find a desert island and live there for ten days. with sarah. and an open bar. and with language helpers who speak french, arabic, and (why not) gaelic. free food wouldn't be bad, either.

Thoughts

I like to think I can speak Gaelic. Haven't done so for many years. But I could make stuff up. I am pretty sure I don't know any cuss words in Gaelic, so that would be OK.Not really into the desert island thing at the moment as I have been hiding out at Camp for several weeks, on my days off. Am now back in the city and have to go to work tomorrow. Being grown up and responsible sucks! Well sometimes it does.
Will get round to emailing you soon.
Later, keep doing what you do.

can we add free coffee to the list? or would that be part of the open bar? and would the chocolate be as good as belgian chocolate, or would we need to stock up ahead of time?

So have you picked up a copy of Harry Potter?

I like this one letter thing in the place of people's name.
I'm so glad e and t's wedding was so far the best you've been to.
When you and Sarah move to your desert island with the free coffee, you should get some Bad Ass Coffee. They're all over the US, started in Hawaii, opened supposedly honoring the donkeys who toted coffee beans down mountains, and have supurb coffee. It took me two hours to find them today. Who closes part of highway 6 in the middle of Houston and in the middle of 5 o'clock traffic?
Bobs, I'm writing a book. And you kids are going to be in it. Even if you are on an island with free food.

excellent questions, all.

donnie, thanks for saying hi. been thinking of you a lot, lately. prayin' for your transition.

sarah, we have all power. the details are ours to manipulate. ;)

j.krue: NO! i haven't! AAAACK! but I did get paid today, and i'm running errands later, so... tell me nothing about snape (who I'm hoping turns out to be good), sirius (who I'm hoping turns out to be alive), or anyone else until i give you the signal.

mez: sorry about the traffic. it gave me waves of nostalgia to hear it. never tried bad ass, although i've *almost* gone there three or four times. let me know if you need any help with the book.
