my fridge is full of amazing ingredients: melon, apples, carrots, yogurt, wine, juice, calamari, red snapper, really nice mustard, butter...
"where are you people? want to come eat? stay the night and we'll make apple pancakes!"
did i just say that out loud? it's just been one of those weeks. i think sharing space (and food) with people is what i really crave when i get a reprieve from stress. it doesn't help that there are Significant Things happening elsewhere, in the lives of Significant People.
but things are winding up again soon, as folks here return from holidays and as we all start prepping for autumn. there are lots of meetings and new experiences on the horizon, so soon i'll be buried under work and things to think about. on the one hand, that makes it more sad that i can't have more important people hanging around right now. but on the other hand, at least it means there'll be things to keep me distracted from my people-fixation.
(...seriously. apple pancakes, people. apple freaking pancakes.)
Posted by nickles at August 5, 2007 04:59 AM | TrackBacksorry. apple freaking pancakes are too much of a gluten temptation. i won't be able to go anywhere near you for some time now; i'm just not strong enough.
Enjoy.
Posted by: sarah j. at August 6, 2007 08:22 AMabandoning plans is a strategic skill for people in such specialized jobs as us. (as we?) so forget the pancakes.
we'll do apple crumble. with oats, ground almonds, and rice flour. and tons of butter and brown sugar.
bet you could eat that.
...now can we hang out?
yeah, abandoning plans is sort of my life. i like your style. and i LOVE a good apple crumble. you sure know the way to my heart. At least, the "alternate route" when coffee is not available or has been taken care of.

and i have both.

Posted by: sarah j. at August 6, 2007 12:51 PMwe are too funny for words.
Posted by: bob at August 6, 2007 05:09 PMWell I'm making a delicious chicken coconut curry tonight. Nothing with apples today. Work has been ridiculous, but I bought all my books for school yesterday. Well, hope you both are well. ~ME
Posted by: jkrue at August 7, 2007 04:32 PMGASP! Sounds like a progressive dinner, to me...
Posted by: bob at August 7, 2007 06:33 PMWow you kids are DEFINITELY a great source of entertainment for the Mezmoo as Bobs so fondly calls me. Apple anything sounds really good right now. After I reddened myself at the beach today I ate a lovely golden delicious. I'll eat those pancakes you guys are abandoning. You can have all the crumble.
