Confession: I am an application junkie. I just finished applying to MTW and ELIC for mission work after college. So far, I've been interviewed twice over the phone. I filled out and prayed over about 12 different RD applications and 3 seminary applications before deciding that none of them are for me, right now. I even like processing other people's applications -- as in next year's RA applicants. Good grief.
Anyway, all that applications business got me thinking: I've had a great life.
No, no, I mean it. I feel sorry for all of you folks out there in cyberland who haven't been as blessed as little old moi. So far, my 22 years have been crammed full of marathon family road trips, excellent teachers, fine churches, hot and humid summers, health, approximately 6 trips to the beach, bizarre yet lovable roommates, at least a week on every continent but South America and Antarctica, 7 great bosses, mild winters, strong mental wherewithal (arguably), a college education, very demanding jobs, artistic jaunts, happy birthdays and very merry Christmases.
Putting all of those things down in writing on an application really jump starts the thankfulness mechanism! You should try it. Write down a 1-page biographical sketch of yourself, including important relationships, experiences, and accomplishments according to the general chronological flow of your life. Sheesh.
Ok - to see whole posts, go to the monthly archives. Sorry it's still broken. I can't get anyone to explain to me how to fix things. I don't have a clue. BUT I'm back and actually using my blog, now that sip is done... more on that later.
