So I haven’t blogged in weeks and weeks. There’s been lots of blog-worthy excitement in my life, lately, but lots of it is going unreported. (Maybe I’ll backblog? What a fun word.) Here are the highlights from the last two months, beginning with the most recent:
working today and yesterday moving earth for NICKLES LAND CLEARING,INC. in SC, running a bulldozer and a track-hoe
speaking last Sunday in two WV churches: one is a new plant that meets in a movie theater, the other was established in 1918 and still uses its bell to announce worship hours
breakfast last Saturday in Chattanooga (...where I did NOT get to see Evan Donovan! Bah! I'll have to see him the week of the 12th. Evan? Are you reading this? Are you concerned that I'm not guarding your anonymity?) with M, A, and K – so good to know that people whose lives keep taking them in divergent directions can still maintain prayerful, intentional friendships
dinner the night before, which ended with M, A, and J sitting with me on M’s front porch
spending three days in Atlanta trying desperately to reconnect with teammates and with myself after having been away from home for a month and a half
spending two weeks living in hotels and with extended family while roadtripping to Houston with the nuclear family – life makes so much sense when you have people around who know when you’re being moody, excited, tired, unreasonable, but don’t insist on knowing why – family just takes it like it comes, so you can let it hang loose
(oh and that included three fabulous meals in Houston that we nefariously put on Dad's expense account -- how does that one man manage to eat enough for five and still look so dashing? acutally i think it was a legal, boring old moving expense, but then i wouldn't get to say "nefarious," would i?)
